A brilliant fusion of modern lines and classic elements
A unique space

OCHBA 2002 Winner - Custom Kitchen over 200 sq ft

kitchenllOur clients entertain a great deal and wanted a contemporary, clean lined kitchen that would leave a lasting impression.

The island had to incorporate a water cooler and appliance garages as well as a small perch for guests to sit and have a glass of wine.

As is the case with most houses…the kitchen is the nucleus of the home.  Our clients envisioned this room to have several purposes…it would act as their kitchen, family room, and eating area.

Stainless steel and black granite contrast the flat panel maple cabinetry.  Due to the kitchen’s high ceilings, we were able to draw attention to the upper cabinets by adding curves to them.  Modular, back lit glass also adds to the unique design of this space.

The fireplace was designed to accent the kitchen by incorporating the same materials and of course, the curve.

Custom Kitchens Under 179 sq. ft.

kitchen_piscaOur Clients wanted a sleek, contemporary, clean lined kitchen that would leave a lasting impression.  Accustomed to living in a Toronto loft, we needed to transform their 60’s split Bungalow into a flexible space with room to entertain, or just to contemplate.
The design needed to be unconventional yet functional.
The transformation started by removing the partition between the dining room and kitchen and adding a new window with drywall returns – the cabinetry would frame the window.
We combined a cream mat lacquer, flat panel door with custom walnut accents to create a unique, funky space with an understated attitude.
All design elements, unconventional or standard, when combined, create a strong design statement. From stainless steel hardware to the asymmetrical door design of the wall cabinets framing the stainless steel hood, not to mention the outstanding 4” thick square edged walnut accents – these components help to define the geometry of the kitchen.
A design that is asymmetrical in nature while creating a perfect balance.

OCHBA 2004 Award for Kitchen Under 200 sq.ft.

kitchen_proje6Our Clients wanted a sleek, contemporary, clean lined kitchen that would leave a lasting impression.  We drew from the existing architecture and style of the windows – the strong horizontal lines.

The custom natural anigrie veneer cabinets with black high gloss lacquer channel emphasized the horizontal pattern in the design.

The design is further strengthened by the square edged, honed Cambian Black granite and black 3x3 tile backsplash.

The wall to wall windows created a design challenge for the upper cabinets.  We extended the black lacquer upper cabinet detail into a shelf over the hood and then again to the window wall, meeting at the window mullion.  Staggered self-supporting shelves added balance to the open area nearest to the window.

A large stainless steel contemporary apron sink intersects the granite and is further accentuated by the large commercial-like faucet.

A kitchen doesn’t have to be large to have punch.  It’s all in the detail!
