OCHBA 1998 - Best kitchen over 200 square feet
The Clients of this uniquely designed kitchen love to entertain. Their home is a reflection of this. Very contemporary, crisp clean lines, elegant, open and airy. The kitchen had to be designed to reflect these features. It too had to be unique, open, elegant - one of a kind.
The door design was inspired by a Parisian edge banding company where thousands of designs were created from rare inlays. We enlarged one module of the "Tromp L'oeil" to create the door design. The panels, doors and drawers were constructed of burled anigray veneer on the diamond cut with ebony diamond centers.
The edge banding itself was incorporated into the design both as part of the crown, underneath the black lacquer crown moulding and in the front panel of the island.
The black lacquer toe kick, appliances, and granite countertops/backsplash provide a clean contrast to the light veneer and draw out the ebony inlays in the door design.
The overall design, use of materials and high quality of craftsmanship transform this kitchen into an elegant furniture like creation.
